The Civil Non-Profit Company under the name “Reporters United”, whose registered address in Athens is Anaxagora Street no. 3-5, 10552, with Business Registry number (GEMI) 150900301000 (hereinafter referred to as “Reporters United”, “us/ourselves”, “our company”, “our”, “we”), is the sole owner and manager of the webpage/website (hereinafter called the “site” or “website”) operating under the name https://www.reportersunited.gr.

Our website is connected to channels, accounts and our pages on third-party websites and social media (Facebook, Instagram, Vimeo, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, Mailchimp, Donorbox, Documentcloud) through distinctive active links-images or connections. The visit and use of this website constitutes an implicit acceptance of the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

The user of the website https://www.reportersunited.gr shall use it in accordance with the law and these terms and conditions. The website is for personal use only and therefore may not be modified, reproduced, copied, distributed, sold, resold or used for commercial or non-commercial purposes. In case of such action, our company is entitled to deny the user access to the site temporarily or permanently, as well as claim any other damage.

Definitions

“Visitor / User”: The visitor, user, surfer of our site who is not a Subscriber – Member. The Visitor / User has full access to the content of our website.

“Subscriber – Member”: The Visitor/User of the website https://www.reportersunited.gr, who has selected a recurring financial donation in the form of subscription, payment of the subscription and consequently has obtained a user account.

“Subscription/Membership”: Any donation or contribution, which the “Subscriber/Member” agrees and accepts to pay in terms of a recurring financial donation either on a monthly or annual basis, to support our non-profit purposes and our work as a whole.

Minor visitors / users of our services

The content of Reporters United website is generally appropriate for minors.

In any case, if the content of our website, as well as the channels, pages, and accounts of Reporters United on third party sites, is considered by the Reporters United team unsuitable for minors, it will be accompanied by a corresponding warning to Visitors/Users. In the event that a minor (under the age of 18) eventually uses our website or services which explicitly indicate that they are not intended to be used by minors, by falsely claiming to be an adult, the persons holding the parental responsibility of the minor (i.e. the parents) are personally bound by the present terms and conditions and fully acknowledge that they personally undertake the full responsibility of any damage that may be caused by any unlawful/unauthorised activity or in violation of these terms and conditions use of our website, as well as the channels, pages and accounts of Reporters United on third party sites.

Donations and Contributions in terms of Subscription

Our Company accepts donations and contributions of third individuals or legal entities incorporated under private or public law, and in general any other contribution of third parties to achieve and promote its statutory purposes.

Our Company determines in detail the manner of granting donation funds by third parties, either individuals or legal entities, by providing alternatives of either one-time or recurring financial offers in terms of subscription (hereinafter “the Subscription”) on regular basis (monthly or annually) through a special recurring financial program offered through the website www.reportersunited.gr.

Subscription Activation – Account Creation

Each “Visitor / User” can register as a “Subscriber – Member” through the selection and subsequent payment of the subscription package he/she wishes. When activating the Subscription, the “Subscriber-Member” receives in the personal e-mail address he/she provided during the registration, an automated message from Reporters United through Donorbox, with the confirmation and receipt of the transaction.

If the User does not have an account with Donorbox (donorbox.org), then in the email used during registration the User will receive another email regarding the creation of an account in Donorbox. Once the payment transaction is complete, the “Visitor / User” is taken to the “donorbox.org” website, which provides the necessary software for the regular management of Subscriptions.
There the “Visitor / User” can create his account, by entering his email address and creating a personal password. Each “Visitor / User” can register as a “Subscriber – Member” by completing the payment process through the form made available in www.reportersunited.gr.

With the activation of the Subscription, the “Subscriber – Member” receives an email from the email address support@mail.donorbox.org at the email provided during his/her registration, containing a confirmation of the subscription activation with the login details for the connection to his/her account at the “donorbox.org” website, through which he can edit his Subscription.

The type, the duration, and the amount of the donation that the “Subscriber – Member” wishes to pay as a donation-contribution to support our statutory purposes, is provided and described in detail in our Websites, so that the “Subscriber – Member” is free to choose the special program – plan that meets his/her expectations and wishes.

Terms and conditions of Subscription payment

The “Subscriber-Member” has a right to choose the amount of the Contribution that he will disburse. The prices that appear on our website for the selection of any special program – plan of recurring financial contribution are final and are not charged with VAT. To avoid any doubt, it is clarified that all the provided prices on our websites are displayed in Euros. Our Company reserves the right to amend the provided special programs – plans and their cost at its sole discretion and without prior notice, but without retroactive effect. Therefore, regardless of any differentiation of the indicative prices provided for subscriptions-donations, the “Subscriber-Member” will be contributing the agreed financial donation that was in force at the time of activating his Subscription.

Our Company does not provide advice and services related to taxation and the general legal nature of subscriptions or donations of third parties, individuals or legal entities. The obligation to seek this type of information from professional associates, who specialise in financial tax matters related to donations or contributions lies solely with these third parties – donors.

Subscription Payment Method: Your Subscription payment is made exclusively via Visa, Mastercard, American Express credit/debit card and is concluded in a secure transaction environment through the STRIPE provider. The process is very simple, following the steps you will find on the relevant platform on our Website, and which is technically supported by “donorbox.org”. The “Subscriber-Member” is solely responsible for the correct, full and true insertion of his/her personal information and the debit/credit card’s data, and expressly acknowledges that our company bears no responsibility for their proper use. Under all circumstances the customer shall be the sole holder of the debit/credit card used for each transaction.

For the accomplishment of the above actions, the Company collects the personal data of the “Subscribers – Members” mentioned in its Privacy Policy, in addition to the financial information and data related to the payment of each subscription or donation and the selected special program-plan, in order to secure proper implementation of any financial transaction. Regarding the Company’s privacy policy on personal data protection issues, consult the corresponding detailed section of the aforementioned Website.

The payment of any selected amount for donation will be made through the online transaction provider STRIPE on behalf of the Company, so that the Company only receives information concerning personal data already mentioned. Reporters United expressly states that any individual or legal entity that proceeds to such a transaction, needs to consult the terms and conditions, as well as the privacy policy of the aforementioned provider in order to secure his/her rights regarding such financial transactions. For any completed act of donation or subscription, based on the above, the Company will issue and send a receipt of the transaction in electronic form for any legal use, through the technical support of the “donorbox.org” provider.

Cancellation / Withdrawal of Subscription: Before the submission of the request for the payment of the Subscription, during the selection of the special program–plan, as well as while you submit the rest of the data required for the transaction, you can stop entering your data and press “back” or leave our website completely. In this case your Subscription is not saved. Every “Subscriber-Member” has the right at any given moment to cancel / withdraw his/her Subscription through his/her account at Donorbox.

Force Majeure Events: Our Company shall not be held liable for breach of its obligations under these terms if and to the extent that the delays in the offered services are due to incidents that cannot be attributed to the fault of our company, and constitute events of force majeure, such as strikes, natural disasters, epidemics or pandemics, transport accidents, compliance with any legislative or governmental act, or any other cause which could not have been foreseen or could not have been prevented. Under any such case, our Company will make its best efforts to remedy any deficiencies in relation to the aforementioned special “programs-plans” or services offered.

Reporters United’s Intellectual Property Rights

The entire content of our website, including, indicatively and not limited to, texts, audio and video files, videos, logos, graphics, dialogs, news and general any other material posted on the websites, including menus, tools, fonts, website design programs, operating methods and procedures and software, belong to the sole intellectual property of “Reporters United”, Anaxagora 3-5, 10552, and are governed and protected by the Greek Law (L. 2121/1993 as amended by L. 4212/2013 and L. 4481/2017 and is in force). Furthermore, logos, trademarks, domain names and attributes that are included in our website, belong to this website and/or to all the related persons possessing those related Intellectual Property rights.
