Alexia Kalaitzi is a multimedia journalist based in Greece. She covers socio-political issues and human interest stories for Greek and international media. She currently collaborates with Greek Public Broadcaster and Kathimerini while part of her work has been published in the Guardian, Deutsche Welle, Al Jazeera, VICE, and New Humanitarian. She has been selected as a fellow for The Balkan Fellowship of Journalistic Excellence (2021) while in 2019, she participated in the National Geographic Human Journey Grant program covering the lives of unaccompanied refugee minors in Greece for a year. She has graduated from the School of Journalism and Mass Media at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and she holds a Master's Degree in Politics and Economics in Eastern and Southeastern Europe. She has also been trained in multimedia storytelling, attending the Journalism Video Workshop at Columbia University in New York.
